Purpose and Scope
The role will focus on the monitoring, maintenance and improvement of the core Cisco network and deployment and management of VMware solutions. The Network Systems Engineer will also be responsible for finding solutions & implementing network projects for businesses and providing support for customer networks onsite or using phone and e-mail.
Primary Responsibilities
• Manage OSPF and BGP configurations on switches and Routers.
• Configuring of Routers, Firewalls and Switches with VLANS, VPNs, QoS, Access Lists, and more.
• Evaluation of new and existing network devices to improve network performance and stability.
• Continuously monitor network bandwidth for anomalous traffic behavior and appropriately make changes to correct anomalies.
• Organize Cisco equipment and related accessories for network maintenances.
• Develop and maintain security policies for network devices across backbone.
• Manage and maintain IP Addresses and related systems.
• Integration of different types and sizes of networks.
• Organize, design and implement networks from concept to application.
• Design networks utilizing Visio for backbone and customers.
• Resolve Wide Area Networking issues for customers.
• Ensure 99.999% uptime of Core Cisco Network.
• Maintenance of Corporate Cisco Network.
• Documentation of network changes.
• Direct and Support NOC with networking issues.
• Project management.
• Server network configuration and troubleshooting
Skills and Knowledge Required:
• Knowledge of implementing and configuring Routers and Switches.
• In-depth knowledge and experience in Routing and Switching Networks (TCP-IP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP4, and VLAN’s ).
• Experience with WAN technologies such as Metro Ethernet and MPLS
• Proven VMware experience
• Knowledge of Voice Over IP
• Must be a quick thinker and have the ability to work under pressure in creating access lists and re-routing traffic.
• Strong Analytical and problem solving skills.

Experience
• 3 years demonstrated experience of managing and designing networks
• CCNP or equivalent experience
• VMware Certified Professional
